WHO WE ARE
Artrium is a mental health charity based in Hartlepool, UK.
We have been active, using art as a medium to improve wellbeing since 2003. We started as an art studio based out of a garage by a group of adults looking to use their time creatively to boost their mental health.
Since then, the service has grown to include an award-winning studio, gallery, and external workshops serving the Hartlepool community and neighbouring towns.
Studio.
At our studio, members are provided with a secure and inviting space to delve into their art, guided by our dedicated team of volunteers.
It serves as a sanctuary from the routine of daily life, fostering a sense of belonging within a close-knit community.
Our Studio has been established as a creative hub where members of all skill levels can freely express themselves through various artistic mediums.
We also offer one-to-one tailored support for those who need that little bit of extra help while in the studio.
Gallery.
Our gallery base has been a part of Middleton Grange Shopping Centre since 2011, offering a platform for our members, volunteers and local artists to exhibit and sell their work.
We aim to support local artists to showcase their work to the general public with the majority of proceeds from sales 30% of every sale goes back into the charity, allowing many of our members to make steps in forming a career out of their talents.
We regularly hold themed exhibitions, events and drop-in sessions with local groups and artists
Outreach.
Our charity engages in diverse community outreach efforts, including tailored workshops and classes for different demographics, from workshops to art education programs in collaboration with local community projects and businesses.
We aim to make a positive impact within the community through various outreach initiatives and are open to discussing a range of options to suit all. Through these initiatives, we aim to enrich lives, foster inclusivity, and strengthen community bonds.
